Babe Ruth Online Coaching Certification
The Babe Ruth organization has teamed with Cal Ripken to develop an interactive Coaches Education Program. The program consist of 10 units related to Coaching a team through Game Day Strategies. Coaches who successfully pass the Babe Ruth League Coaching Education and Certification Program will receive a certification that is valid for their entire coaching career with Babe Ruth League, Inc. This also applies to any coach who has already taken and successfully passed the Babe Ruth Coaching Education and Certification Program. Since 2008, the Babe Ruth Coaching Education and Certification Program is be required for all Tournament Team coaches. Criminal Background Checks
All coaches are required to submit a PA Criminal Background Check Certificate to the Commissioner of their division before the first game of the year. Each background check is valid for two years. For instructions on how to obtain the certificate, please contact your league Commissioner. All cost to obtain the Certificate will be reimbursed by NPAA Baseball.
Babe Ruth Tournaments (will be updated when Babe Ruth dates are determined)
The Babe Ruth District and State Tournaments dates for 2010 will be posted in May. Each tournament is a double elimination format with the district tournament winner in each bracket moving on to complete for the State Tournament. Winners of the the State tournament will compete in the Mid-Atlantic Regional games to be held in New Jersey. Regional winners will compete in the Babe Ruth World Series.
NPAA Baseball strives to enter one team in each age bracket (8 through 12) and will host the one of the Districts Tournaments at Urban Field.

League Rules
NPAA Baseball follows the Babe Ruth League Rules and Guidelines. The Official Babe Ruth League rules can be found at www.baberuthleague.org. League exceptions to the Official Babe Ruth League rules can be obtained from the league commissioner or any head coach.
NPAA Softball follows the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) Rules. The official softball rules can be found at www.softball.org. League exceptions to the ASA rules can be obtained from the softball commissioner or any head coach.
