NPAA Baseball & Softball Hosts MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Event
NPAA Baseball and Softball sponsored its first MLB Pitch, Hit and Run event on Sunday, May 2nd. Although turnout was very low (hopefully because the event was postponed from the prior week), there was some healthy competition from all of the participants. By age group, the winners of the various events will be invited to the Sectional competition in Langhorne, PA on Sunday, May 16. Hopefully, one or more of our participants will perform well and advance, possibly to this year’s MLB All Star Game. For more information on the event, please visit www.mlb.com/phr .

NPAA Baseball & Softball 8th Annual Home Run Derby and Picture Day
The 8th Annual Home Run Derby and Picture Day was held Sauturday, May 15 at Hepford Park and NPE. The weather cooperated beautifully for the first time in several years. Thank you to Ed McAndrews (event coordinator), Steve Leach, Larry Elias, Anne Viggiano, Sue Lanholm, and the many volunteers that made this day a success.
The awards ceremony will be held Wednesday, June 2, 7:30PM at Hepford Park. At that time, we will present awards to our top fundraisers, including the $300 drawing for those players who raised a minimum of $100. We will also present trophies to our individual batting champions in each of our baseball and softball divisions.

Coaching Certification
Coaching Certifications are required for 2010. See your league commissioner or go to the COACHES section of the website for additional details.
Travel Baseball
Tryouts for the Delco 11-12 year old team and three Junior Legion teams will be will be held on the dates below. All tryouts are at the High School Gym. Please check the website the day of the tryout for any updated information. In the event of severe weather or other circumstances beyond our control, the school district reserves the right to close the buildings.

- Legion Tryouts:
- 13 year old – Saturday, February 20th 1pm to 2pm
- 14-15 year olds - Saturday, February 20th 2pm to 3pm
- A second and final tryout for all 13-15 year olds will be held Saturday, February 27th 2pm to 3pm for all players who did not attend the first tryout or would like to be seen again for additional consideration.
- You MUST attend at least ONE of the above tryouts to be considered for any of the three Legion programs.
- Senior Legion registration and tryouts will take place on February 20th and 27th from 1pm to 3pm at the SHHS gym.
Background Checks
Backgroundchecks for all NPAA coaches are due to the respective commissioner by April 9th. Any coach not submitting a background check will not be allowed to coach.
Code of Conduct
All Coaches, Parents, and Players are required to review and sign the NPAA Code of Conduct form. Forms will be distribute by the coaches at one of the first few practices. Forms are due back to the Coaches by 4/9. Click on Code of Conduct to view the form.
